Thank you for visiting the Bronx Baptist Learning Center website.  We are a church-based Early Childhood Education Program, which was organized in 1977 at a time when the South Bronx was in dire need of hope and stability.  With a commitment to reverse this trend, our founders, Jennifer Ellis and Rev. Dr. Samuel Simpson, determined that upon leaving the institution, each child (based on his or her aptitude) should be able to read, write, and do basic mathematics above their grade level.  "Aiming for Excellence" soon became the Center's motto.  

 

Today, we continue their vision by implementing a rigorous and fun learning environment that elevates each child’s potential. Our mission is summed up in two simple words – children first.  Therefore, our children are taught to see themselves and each other as special, created with purpose, and loved by God.  We prepare them to make healthy social transitions, maximize their academic accomplishments, and exhibit good character.  It was the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., who said, “Intelligence is not enough.  Intelligence plus character – that is the goal of education.” 

 

So, I welcome you to the Bronx Baptist Learning Center.  We offer Day Care services, an After-School Program, a Summer Camp, and other enrichment activities for children in our community.  There is a place here for your child
